SKINCARE NOTES

Skincare routine in order

  • Double cleanse (if wearing makeup) Cleansing Balm to remove makeup and cleanser to wash face.

  • Toner to restore skins PH balance

  • Essence Serum first. PEACH & LILY Wild Dew essence (use all over face & neck, including under brows and around eyes to plump & hydrate)

  • Serums next. Use in order of thickness. Thinnest consistency first.

  • Moisturizer

  • SPF VACATION Shake Shake Mineral SPF50 mixed with the Studio Tone SPF50. You can add a couple of drops of the bronzing liquid to the ShakeShake, any moisturizer, any foundation, or on its own for great, lightweight bronzed protection!

    Things to add to your routine…

  • Exfoliating cleanser: PETER THOMAS ROTH Anti-Aging Cleansing Gel. Great in the shower to use a few times a week to exfoliate.

  • Firming Mask: CLARINS CRYO-FLASH Cream Mask. Visibly firms the skin. Reduces the look of texture and lifts the skin. I swear by this one. AMAZING combined with the NuFace Trinity for max lift when being photographed or at events.

  • My FAV inexpensive K-Beauty moisturizer!! PROBIODERM Collagen Remodeling Cream: only $20, super rich, but your skin will soak it up! I tell everyone about this because the price can’t be beat.

  • For your sheet masks… Silicone Sheet Mask Reusable Cover: hilarious to wear; these keep your masks in place so you can walk around without them sliding. I’m obsessed with mine coz I never find the time to lie down while masking.

Skincare Notes - Use toner to “wash” your face in the morning after a complete routine the night before. Avoid skincare with Dimethicone under makeup to prevent that pesky balling. It can also be called Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol, Phenyl Trimethicone, or Disiloxane. These act the same. Wait 5 minutes after skincare application before applying makeup to the face.

MAKEUP NOTES

  • Apply eyeshadow primer, Smashbox 24-hour eye primer, from the lash line up into the brows to hold brow powder all day.

  • Apply brows

  • Skin-colored matte shadow #1 all over the lid, from lash line to brows.

  • Eyes open, straight into the mirror, use matte shadow #2 and trace your orbital bone from outside in to under the brow using light pressure. Trace back and forth with small circles to softly blend it. No harsh lines, just defining the area with a light shadow.

  • Matte shadow #3: tilt your head back a bit to expose your actual crease. Swirl the color on the outer corner of the eyelid and then slowly sweep it into the crease. You may need to get more color on the brush. Remember to place the brush on the outer corner and drag the color in. Lift the brush and repeat the movement to bring the shadow in toward the nose. Can swirl the brush as well to blend. Look straight into the mirror to check that you like the placement and check for symmetry.

  • Apply shimmer or glitter shadow on the lid. Use a flat shader brush to get a soft wash of color, your finger for more shimmer, and a wet flat shader brush for max impact! Depending on the shadow ingredients, this may vary. Some experimenting will happen. Like, some will apply better with a finger and terribly with a brush, and vice versa.

  • Use the Mini Flat Shader brush to apply matte shadow #2 under the lid from outer to inner lash line.

  • Use the TIP of the mini shader brush to apply a FINE line of the matte shadow #3 right under the lashes. Use the mini rounded blender to blend the 2 colors together.

  • Use the Sephora Black pencil to tightline the upper eyelid and waterline. This can be skipped for a daytime look if it feels too dramatic.

  • Can also line the lower lash line, focusing on getting it between the lashes and NOT in the lower waterline.

    Natural Eye Shadow Brushes Set on Amazon. 2 sizes of shaders. One bigger one to cover the lid with matte shadow #1 and a smaller one for shimmers on the lid. Has 2 additional smaller brushes that will work perfectly under the eye.

    Natural Bristle Domed Eyeshadow Blending Brush. Get 2 so you have one for the lighter 2 colors and one for the dark color. Natural brushes are getting harder to find, and if taken care of, they will last for years!

  • HOW TO WASH YOUR BRUSHES SO THEY LAST - Using a touch of your hair shampoo to wash will keep them nice. Dip the tip of the brushes in water; do not submerge. Keep water from getting in the part that holds the bristles to the brush. Lather and rinse. Squeeze dry and lay flat to dry on a paper towel. For your synthetic brushes, you can use dish detergent that can break down the creams more quickly. Squeeze dry and lay flat on a paper towel.

EYESHADOW TIPS** Can use Scotch tape to lift off fallen glitter from under your eyes. A Q-tip with moisturizer is great for other cleanups around the eye. Use the matte shadow #1 on a fluffy brush to blend over a part that is too dark, or if you have trouble blending. Use the Mini Magic Eraser Makeup Remover Cloths to wipe shadow off your brushes between washes to keep the colors true and to switch between colors. Keeps you from needing more brushes. Use a powder highlighter to add shimmer and brightness in the inner corner of the eyes and a single light sweep between the eyes across the bridge of the nose.

FACE Apply your NARS with fingers as usual. Add the Tarte Under Eye CC Cream from the outer corner of the eye to the absolute inner corner of the eye to cover shadows and brighten. Blend it down on the cheekbone to highlight the area and up past the outer brow for lift. Tap over it with a damp Beauty Blender Sponge. Apply blush on the upper cheeks and blend down. Keep blush more than 1 finger away from the nostrils. Can tap the Beauty Blender over it to soften, or add a tiny bit of NARS to a face brush, use the back of your hand to get it all over the brush, then tap over the blush to “underpaint”. Can use powder blush to “set” the blush so it doesn’t shift during the day, which is very common with cream blush.

LIPS Using a lip liner, define the Cupid's bow with a “V” and then blot lips together. Using the lowest point of the “V” on the bottom lip as a guide, line the bottom of the lip. Using small strokes, go up the sides little by little, side to side, to make sure the bottom lip is symmetrical. Bring the sides of the bottom lip JUST INSIDE where it meets the top lip, making it slightly narrower. Make small strokes from the outer corner of the top lip up to the Cupid's bow, watching symmetry. Fill in the outer corners, top and bottom, and fill in with a gloss or lipstick a few shades lighter. This makes the lips look fuller. Add a small swipe of highlighter onto the Cupid’s bow and a small swipe of contour under the lip right against the lip line.

This MINI NATASHA DENONA BRONZE & GLOW palette is great for the eyes and lip contour. Also a pretty bronzer instead of blush for a bronze, sunkissed look.
